While the Tualatin Valley Volunteer Firefighters Association (TVVFA) was officially incorporated as the Tualatin Volunteer Fire Department on March 12, 1946, however, our history of service stretches back to at least 1898 when the City of Newberg was served by Volunteer Firefighters. For over 125 years Volunteers have served the communities that now comprise the Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue (TVF&R) District.
Today our membership consists of the active Volunteers of TVF&R, as well as the Retired Volunteers of TVF&R and their nearly 20 predecessor fire agencies.
TVVFA is an independent organization incorporated as a non-profit 501(c)4 Social Welfare Organization.
Continuing our rich history of community service, TVVFA members volunteer their time to give back to the communities in which they live in a variety of ways. This is done through TVVFA both financially supporting and sponsoring events in our community, as well as through volunteer work for TVF&R, maintaining a fleet of antique fire apparatus, providing support at emergency incidents, and staffing dozens of community events for TVF&R each year.
